Ventures Green is one of 4 farms at the newest regenerative community farm in the Victoria area. Our farm is on the unceded Coast Salish Territory, specifically of the Lekwungen and WSANEC peoples. Ventures Green uses no-spray and low-till smallholder permaculture farming practices to grow as much local food as possible on this 1 acre farm. This is a new farm site so we used a tractor to break up the grass (shallow till). We are hoping to not use a fossil fuel machine again on this site. We are using organic compost and legumes to build the soil. We plan to start a circular economy food system on Vancouver Island by using reusable bags and containers but we will start by selling in single use plastic bags.
