After fostering an interest in fungi as hobby mycologists, we quit our jobs, sold our house in Saskatchewan, moved to the west coast, and jumped in with both feet. Regrowth Food & Fibre is a new farming enterprise that grows a delicious variety of gourmet mushrooms year-round. We raise our crops in North Saanich, BC, and make them available to folks in the greater Victoria area. We value being rooted in the community, following ecological principles, and building a circular economy. We’re always looking for like-minded growers, processors, and business owners to collaborate with.

We are exploring what low-tech mushroom farming looks like and how we can work with fungi in regenerative agriculture. We fruit our mushrooms in an unheated greenhouse on soy hulls and hardwood substrate with no pesticides. We are also developing methods to grow mushrooms outdoors with other crops. Our goals are to minimize energy and water use and eliminate single use materials in our cultivation.
